Hide subscriber count on Youtube
A few years ago, we already showed how to hide the subscriber count on Youtube. But as it is always the case, Google and Youtube like to change their own menu navigation seriously. Therefore, we want to update this topic again, so that smaller channel operators can simply hide the number. Because not for everyone it can be worthwhile to show the own subscription numbers. And even if the function is easy to use, it is relatively difficult to find if you do not know where to look.
Why should I hide the number of subscribers on Youtube?
Imagine you are searching Youtube for different content and you come across two channels. One channel has 100,000 subscriptions and the other has 20. Which one would you click on? Probably the bigger one, right? We often associate the larger number with better content. And even if that’s unfortunately often not the case today, the big Youtuber still wins. To beat this mentality, smaller Youtubers can hide the number of subscribers and are not immediately branded as less interesting.
- Go to Youtube
- Click on your channel picture and “Youtube Studio” in the top right corner
- Select the “Settings” tab on the left -> Channel -> Advanced Settings
- Scroll down to “Display the number of people subscribed to my channel”
- Click on “Save
Actually not difficult or? But since the setting is hidden behind several submenus, it is really difficult to find it at first. We hope that we could help you with this and that you will get a few more viewers in the future, even if you don’t have a high subscription rate yet! Good luck!
