Delete Game from Steam
Some time ago, we already showed how to delete a game from the Steam library. At that time, however, the procedure was not fully developed and was more of a stopgap solution. In the meantime, you can have a Steam game removed fully automatically, since there is a separate menu item for this. But first of all, the warning: If you delete a Steam game, this is not a refund. It will be removed from your library immediately, without any claim to money or anything else. Therefore, you should only perform this step if you are absolutely sure that this is the right thing to do. On the other hand, if you don’t want to remove a game from Steam, but want a refund, we have already made a tutorial for that as well!
Delete Steam game from library – good for trash games
We have already used this option with some games that were included in a bundle, such as the Humble Bundle. And some games just don’t correspond to one’s own taste, so that it can sometimes come to the decision that one would rather remove this game than follow the completely normal, human collecting instinct. So it’s good that you can now remove a Steam game permanently.
- Open Steam
- Go to “Help” -> “Steam Support” at the top of the page
- Select the category “Games, Software, etc”
- Search for the game you want to remove
- Click on the item “I want to permanently remove this game from my account”
- Now select “Yes, permanently remove the listed games from my account”
- ATTENTION: this is not a refund, only a deletion!
Unfortunately, it wasn’t as easy as it is today. Therefore, it is even better that it has been completely automated and you can easily remove a Steam game from the library. We wish you a lot of fun with a tidy Steam library and only “good” titles!
