Slack Dark Mode
Slack is a good way to communicate in your company at any time of the day or night. For those who would rather use it in darker hours, it can be worthwhile to activate the Slack dark mode and thus save your eyes. This prevents the bright Slack chat window from flooding the room with light in a dark environment. The dark theme for Slack can be adjusted completely independently to the program or also with the settings of the operating system. Therefore, Slack has the right options for those who are looking for a central setting option.
Dark Mode does not equal design in Slack:
When you set Dark Mode in Slack, it’s not the same as a theme. The theme includes a smaller color palette that is applied to contacts and bars. These can be set individually in both Light and Dark Mode. Since the functions are in the same place, we’ll combine both items in this tutorial. That way you can set everything up right away to suit your needs.
- Launch Slack
- Click on the workspace name
- Select “Preferences” and switch to the “Themes” tab
- In the first section you can set the mode to Light or Dark (or sync it to the operating system)
That way you can change your Slack design:
- In the same area, scroll down to the “Colors” section
- Click on a design you like
With the right settings, working in Slack is fun even in the late evening hours. By the way, Slack also has a variety of other functions in store for you. We regularly go into these in our Slack tutorials, so it may be worth your while to take a look here as well. Feel free to take a look!
