Slack Change Workspace Name
Slack generally lets you create as many projects as you want, and in most cases you just open a new one. But what if a project builds on a new one? Since it is possible in Slack to change the workspace name, you can continue the project under a new name without having to invite all the employees again. Another advantage is that chat histories remain available and can be built upon. We will therefore show you how to change the Slack Workspace name.
Change Slack Workspace name and customize URL:
To work in your workspace, Slack also assigns a URL that leads to a specific login page. If your project changes, you can change the URL for your workspace at the same time, so that new participants don’t wonder why it might not match. The matching combination also makes it easier to guess the right URL if you ever forget your own login.
- Open Slack and select the workspace (if you have more than one, select the appropriate icon in the sidebar on the left)
- Click on the name of your workspace
- Select “Settings & Administration” and “Edit Workspace Details”
- Change the workspace name and if needed also the URL
- Click on “Save”
A quick change, but one that is important. If you know which buttons to push, the process won’t take a minute. We hope that we could help your business with this article. In the past, we have already produced a large number of Slack tutorials and will be adding a few more. If necessary, it may be worth your while to take a look at this section as well. And from here on, we wish you a lot of fun with your project!
