Turn off Facebook autoplay

We are honest. Facebook is not our platform, but for many people it is just the right one! Therefore, we are also there from time to time to stay in contact. However, we noticed very negatively that videos of groups or advertisements start all by themselves. If you have your sound turned on, you are often surprised by this. The point is noticed negatively when you surf with mobile data, since the videos suck up a lot of data voulmen. We would therefore like to show you how you can turn off autoplay on Facebook.

Turn off Autoplay on Facebook – here’s how:

Facebook’s menu navigation takes some getting used to. Since using Facebook in Chronicle is actually very pleasant, you can see what was more important to the developers. But we’ll show you exactly where to navigate to set the video autoplay on Facebook to your liking. Then you won’t get scared so often when scrolling through the timeline…

Step-by-step instructions:

  • Log in to Facebook
  • Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner and then “Settings and privacy”
  • Click on “Videos” in the tab on the left
  • Set the item “Auto-Play Videos” from default to “Off”
  • Done!

Once again, very simple if you know where to look. We hope that Facebook will revise its own menus a bit in the next few years, since we don’t think they are as intuitive as they have managed to be in other areas of the website. Until then, at least we are protected from videos in autoplay and can scroll through the timeline in a relaxed manner. We wish you a lot of fun with it as well!
