How to open blocked file in Avira
Nowadays, it is not uncommon to download something from the Internet that you want to use for work or leisure. And even with reputable sources, it can happen that your own antivirus program kicks in. Then, of course, it is annoying to be denied access. Today we would like to show you how you can open blocked files with Avira, even if the virus software has already moved the desired file to quarantine. Because what looks impossible at first glance is actually just a matter of setting up Avira. And even if other virus software structures the menu differently, you will also find a corresponding function there.
This is how you can open locked files:
The trick is to teach the antivirus program to make an exception here. Because even if the software doesn’t approve the operation then, it will do what we want. So all you have to do is find the menu item where you can add these exceptions. And we will now show you exactly how to do that!
- Open Avira
- Click on “Tools” -> “Configuration”
- Go to “Real-time scanner” -> “Scan” -> “Exceptions”
- Now you can add processes at the top and files at the bottom for which you want Avira to make an exception
- Select the respective path and click on “Add”
- Click on “Apply”
Opening locked files in Avira is therefore quite easy. You should not be put off by the fact that the option “Open anyway” is not immediately available in the browser. Even if the menus of many antivirus programs seem to be flooded with functions and displays, the operation is easier than you first thought. From now on, we wish you much success!
