Firefox search history (how to clear it)

It happens to all of us. We search for something embarrassing. And then someone else uses the computer and they find our search queries. Of course, this can be avoided. If you want to delete your search history in Firefox, today we’re going to show you how to remove all the evidence, whether it’s Google search history, your history or even your recent searches right at the top of the Firefox address bar. Because all of these clues will give you the benefit of the doubt. And rarely do you think of all three points. That’s why we’ll take over for you here and tell you what’s important. In general, there is a simple solution to prevent this from happening and to save you this work in the future.

Use private browsing in Firefox:

With the Private Mode of Firefox you can spare yourself all that. In incognito mode, no data such as cookies, history or search queries are stored. Thus, this is exactly the solution if you want to quickly search for something that no one else should notice. However, it can happen by mistake and therefore we will give you the solution how to remove all evidence. So, here we go!

Step-by-step instructions:

  • Open Firefox
  • Click on the three bars in the upper right corner
  • Select “History” and “Clear recent history”
  • Now you need to tick the following three items:
    • Browsing & download history (removes all links that contain your search query)
    • Cookies (removes Google suggestions related to your search query)
    • Form % search history (removes the history of your search in the Firefox bar)
  • Select the appropriate time period and click OK
  • Done!

Actually quite simple, isn’t it? It is not so important to know the way, but not to forget any of the necessary settings. Because in the end, one of the points is enough for people to conclude about your search behavior. And that’s what we wanted to avoid, isn’t it? We hope that we could help you with the tutorial.
